Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Advanced Pulmonology (ICU)

About the role

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for completing medical histories and physical exams, providing treatment to patients in accordance with the medical plan of care, critical pathways, and established policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of care for the ICU Critical Care setting.

Additional duties may be assigned by Practice Physicians, Practice Manager, Self Medical Group Administration, Medical Director, and Primary Care Director.

Responsibilities

• Complete medical histories and physical examinations.
• Provide treatment to ICU Critical Care patients following the medical plan of care and critical pathways.
• Adhere to Self Regional Healthcare, Self-Medical Group, and Medical/Nursing Policies, Procedures, Protocols, and Standards of Care.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Physicians, Practice Manager, Medical Director, Primary Care Director, or Self Medical Group Administration.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing or Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
• For Nurse Practitioners: Current advanced nursing license from the South Carolina State Board of Nursing.
• For Physician Assistants: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), completion and passing of the NCCPA National Certification Exam, and current licensure.
• Significant practice experience in a private practice or institutional setting.
• Strong clinical expertise, leadership, and organizational ability.
• Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively with others.
• Effective communication skills.

Schedule

Full-time, 7 days on / 7 days off schedule.
