Position Summary
Aids physicians in patient care and education. Assesses patients' physical and psychological conditions, writes prescriptions, administers treatments, and documents care.
Key Performance Areas
- Assess patients' physical and psychosocial status
- Write prescriptions for medications, blood products, and other therapeutic measures
- Evaluate test results and relay information to physicians
- Document patient care accurately and promptly
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and triage patients
- Provide on-call coverage and perform hospital rounds
- Train new employees and assist in crisis situations
Position Qualifications/Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program
- Master’s degree required
- APRN or PA license in appropriate state
- Prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply
- Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P)
- Current BLS
- Minimum 5 years experience as APRN or PA, specifically in Oncology
