We are dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with a broad range of digestive health conditions. From prevention and screening to diagnosis and advanced treatment, our expert team ensures patients receive the highest level of comprehensive gastrointestinal care.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside and in collaboration with the general GI team of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to provide high quality care and management of new, established, and returning patients across both Upper East Side and Lower Manhattan Hospital (LMH) practice locations.
  • Support the clinical, educational, and academic mission of the institution. May include teaching and mentorship through institutional training programs, including the WCM PA Program.
  • Specialize in seeing patient populations in general gastroenterology, including a wide spectrum of outpatient GI conditions, such as Obesity/IChange program and follow-up care.
  • Provide coverage across uptown and LMH clinical sites as part of a collaborative GI practice model.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care coordination for complex GI patients.
  • Initiate and order selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as determined by specialty area(s), following appropriate clinical protocols.
  • Educate and counsel patients in accordance with department and specialty practice standards.
  • Confer with physicians and other healthcare providers in completing and implementing appropriate patient treatment plans.
  • Auxiliary in care coordination, procedural follow-up, and longitudinal management of GI patients as needed.

Requirements

  • NYS Registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) license and current NP registration.
  • NYS Registered Professional Nurse license and current RN registration.
  • Applicable National Board Certification (such as ANCC, PNCB, etc).
  • Current BLS (must be issued by American Heart Association).
  • Infection Control Certificate.
  • CURRENT Narcotics DEA registration certificate.

Qualifications

  • Master's of Science Degree in Nursing.
  • Approximately 2 or more years of clinical experience as an NP in a physician practice or hospital setting, preferably within a related specialty.
  • Prior experience or interest in clinical teaching, precepting, or academic program involvement in an advanced practice provider training program is preferred.

Pay

$150,300.00 - $160,800.00 As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices

Schedule

Monday - Friday. The position will include 5-6 independent clinical sessions per week, with the option for a partial hybrid schedule pending growth in the position and departmental approval. Including vacation/sick and Friday afternoon coverage of the LMH inpatient NP (split/shared coverage plan with the additional outpatient NP).
