Nurse Practitioner - Gastroenterology

Job Overview

Essential Functions

• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and chronic diseases and conditions in the field of gastroenterology.
• Prescribe or administer medications, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
• Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
• Monitor patients' conditions and progress and re-evaluate treatments, as necessary.
• Provide health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Maintain detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests, and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.
• Referral patients to other medical specialists, when necessary.
• Provide compassionate and empathetic support and advice to patients regarding their health concerns.
• Prepare official health documents or records, when necessary.
• Participate in network activities such as Provider meetings, Grand Rounds, and training sessions.

Qualifications

• Current New York State NP license required.
• DEA required.
• BLS/ACLS certification required.
• 3+ years of experience preferred but all welcome.
• Bilingual English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) required.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners to join our dynamic team in the field of gastroenterology. Our goal is to provide high-quality, compassionate care to our diverse patient population in multiple locations across New York City.

Schedule

Hours will vary depending on the location and department, but typically range from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
