Nurse Practitioner-Emergency Services

About the role

Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join their Emergency Services team. This role offers the opportunity to practice at the top of your license in a fast-paced environment, working alongside physicians and a supportive interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Independently and collaboratively manage patient care, from history and physical exam through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications and therapies
• Partner closely with supervising physicians and the broader care team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
• Bring clinical expertise and steady judgment to a fast-moving emergency environment

Requirements

• MSN or DNP from an accredited program
• Current Illinois RN and APRN licensure
• National NP certification in your specialty (FNP, AGACNP, PMHNP, etc.)
• Certified BLS and ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
• DEA registration and Illinois controlled substance license
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience with EMR systems and documentation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency medicine preferred
• Experience with trauma and critical care
• Experience with pediatric care
