Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and gynecological screenings for women of all ages.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health conditions, including gynecological disorders, reproductive health issues, and menopausal symptoms.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans and treatment regimens based on patient needs, preferences, and evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Provide primary care services, including preventive care, health maintenance, and health promotion activities such as screenings, vaccinations, and lifestyle counseling.
- Manage chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and thyroid disorders through medication management, monitoring, and patient education.
- Perform gynecological examinations, including pelvic exams, breast exams, and Pap smears, to screen for gynecological conditions and reproductive health issues.
- Provide contraceptive counseling, family planning services, and prenatal care for pregnant patients, including prenatal assessments, screenings, and education.
- Provide counseling and education on contraceptive options, fertility awareness methods, and family planning services to women and couples.
- Perform contraceptive procedures, such as intrauterine device (IUD) insertions and contraceptive implant insertions, as well as counseling on abortion options and referrals as appropriate.
- Provide health education and counseling on women's health topics, preventive care measures, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal health and wellness.
- Counsel and support patients regarding reproductive health, sexuality, menopause, and other women's health issues.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, referrals, and follow-up services.
- Refer patients to specialists, allied health professionals, and community resources for additional evaluation and treatment as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Nursing (DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Arizona.
- Certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with women's health experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in women's health or OBGYN.
- Strong clinical skills, including proficiency in conducting health assessments, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, and performing gynecological examinations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care, promoting women's health and wellness, and adhering to evidence-based practice guidelines.
