Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner’s program that meets the Oklahoma State requirements for licensure (Master’s degree equivalent in Family or Women’s Health)
  • Oklahoma State Nursing license
  • National Nurse Practitioner Certification
  • Currently certified in CPR
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate math skills and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care and treatments according to credentials and privileges in clinical or public health settings
  • Maintain records, participate on committees, and uphold ethical standards
  • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and healthcare needs, including case management
  • Record physical findings and formulate plans and prognoses based on patient’s condition
  • Refer patients to physicians for consultation or specialized health resources when warranted
  • Manage cases, including creating processes, guiding patients, and handling follow-ups
  • Evaluate emergencies and render lifesaving procedures
  • Participate in committee activities, community activities, and education activities
  • Chair assigned committee meetings
  • Participate in community health fairs
  • Provide education to schools and/or community organizations
  • Maintain certification requirements
  • Ensure patient referrals are handled in a timely manner
  • Read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Present information and respond to questions from various groups
  • Work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule forms
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds
  • Carry out directives as prescribed by the Immediate or Controlling Supervisor
