Nurse Practitioner

About the role

The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is recruiting Nurse Practitioners to provide medical care to individuals and families across various healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to individuals and families within hospitals, ambulatory health centers, psychiatric services, public health clinics, outpatient services, and detention facilities.
• Collaborate with physicians and other multidisciplinary treatment team members.
• Offer primary care and case management to individuals and families with various health issues.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate educational and training sessions upon request.
• Participate in committees focused on quality improvement and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid RN license, NP certificate, and NP furnishing license from the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital, clinic, or medical facility.
• Master's degree in nursing, a clinical field related to nursing, or a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Valid California driver's license or out-of-state valid license acceptable during the application process.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Public Health Nurse for two (2) years or more.
• Seven (7) years or more of experience as a Nurse Practitioner managing illnesses like diabetes, congestive heart failure, arthritis, hypertension, and obstructive pulmonary disease.
• Seven (7) years or more of experience as a Nurse Practitioner providing prenatal care and post-partum follow-up for mothers and children, along with family planning services.
• Seven (7) years or more of experience as a Nurse Practitioner identifying and teaching clients about target symptoms for symptom control.
