Nurse Practitioner

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide collaborative comprehensive care to oncology patients.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patient’s specific needs.
• Assesses data reflective of the patient’s status and appropriately interprets information relative to the patient’s needs.
• Initiates and documents appropriate interactions with patients and consulting physicians.
• Captures and documents patient care and complete of documentation in a timely manner according to company policy.
• Provides Education to meet patient/family needs.
• Aids physicians and performs procedures as needed.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
• Evaluates laboratory results and prepares for change of treatment based on laboratory results.
• Develops and implements treatment plans.
• Aids in clinical staff education.
• Prescribes and dispenses medication in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Documents subjective and objective findings in electronic health records.
• Maintains an environment of caring, concern, and support.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program.
• Must have a certification as a nurse practitioner by an approved certifying organization.
• Must have an Oncology Certified Nurse certification (OCN).
• Must have 2 years oncology experience as a NP.
• Must have computer experience with EMR knowledge.
• Must have an excellent work ethic, including integrity, positive attitude, productivity, organization, treating leadership with respect, excellent attendance, continuous learning, and willingness to ask for help.
• Must have a detailed, fast-paced setting.
• Must have a certification as a nurse practitioner by an approved certifying organization.
• Must have an Advanced Practice Certificate.
• Must have an active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Must have a Prescribing and Dispensing Certificate in AZ.
