Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide collaborative comprehensive care to oncology patients.
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patient’s specific needs.
- Assesses data reflective of the patient’s status and appropriately interprets information relative to the patient’s needs.
- Initiates and documents appropriate interactions with patients and consulting physicians.
- Captures and documents patient care and complete of documentation in a timely manner according to company policy.
- Provides Education to meet patient/family needs.
- Aids physicians and performs procedures as needed.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
- Evaluates laboratory results and prepares for change of treatment based on laboratory results.
- Develops and implements treatment plans.
- Aids in clinical staff education.
- Prescribes and dispenses medication in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Documents subjective and objective findings in electronic health records.
- Maintains an environment of caring, concern, and support.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program.
- Must have a certification as a nurse practitioner by an approved certifying organization.
- Must have an Oncology Certified Nurse certification (OCN).
- Must have 2 years oncology experience as a NP.
- Must have computer experience with EMR knowledge.
- Must have an excellent work ethic, including integrity, positive attitude, productivity, organization, treating leadership with respect, excellent attendance, continuous learning, and willingness to ask for help.
- Must have a detailed, fast-paced setting.
- Must have a certification as a nurse practitioner by an approved certifying organization.
- Must have an Advanced Practice Certificate.
- Must have an active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Must have a Prescribing and Dispensing Certificate in AZ.
