Nurse Practitioner

Responsibilities

  • Completing comprehensive histories and physical exams
  • Ordering and interpreting tests
  • Prescribing medications
  • Developing treatment plans
  • Educating patients/families on treatment options, chemotherapy, procedures and the plan of care

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Certification as a Family Medicine or Adult/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by an approved national certifying body
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification
  • State of Alaska Advanced Practice Nurse License

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years’ post-graduate experience as a nurse practitioner managing hematology/oncology patients
  • OCN or AOCNP certification preferred
  • Astute clinical skills
  • Superior communication and relationship building skills
  • Flexible team player
  • Culturally sensitive

Schedule

Full time; Monday through Friday; four 10-hour shifts per week; 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM; no evenings, weekends or on call required.

About the Role

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) seeks a nurse practitioner to join our Hematology/Oncology team at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC), an award-winning Level II Trauma Center serving as the tertiary referral center for Alaska Native and American Indian people across the state. ANMC offers over 30 medical specialties and is located on our medical center campus in Anchorage, Alaska.
