Position Summary Provides medical care within the scope of education/training and delineated privileges. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Provide examinations for diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, such as: diabetes, high blood pressure, infections and injuries.Perform therapeutic procedures such as administering injections, suturing, and managing wounds/infectionsPrescribing medications and other treatmentsOrdering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-raysRefer patients to specialists if necessary and analyzes medical reports/recordsProvide continuity of care by developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with patients/caregivers and other appropriate healthcare staffProvide appropriate patient counseling, education and medical adviceMaintain confidentiality of all patient recordsManage patients' overall care within scope of practice guidelines, regulations and standardsUpdate patient chart and upload to Electronic Health Record as dictated by agency policyMeet or exceed average minimum productivity standard of 2400 billable encounters annuallyMaintain and annually review Collaborating Practice Agreement with supervising physician as mandated by state regulationsParticipate in After Hours Call by telephone per departmental policyAssessed by medical and clinical peers through quarterly record audits and one on one training and observation at least year, or more frequently if neededMaintain continuing medical education as required by credentialing agencyParticipation in special collaboratives/projectsProvide periodic education/counseling at community eventsPerform other related duties as assigned by management Qualifications Master's Degree (MA) (MS) or Doctoral Degree (Ph. D.) (DNP) or equivalent from accredited college/universityCertificates, licenses and registrations required: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licensure by South Carolina State Board of NursingBoard Certification by a national organization (ANCC or AANP)South Carolina Controlled Substance registrationFederal DEA Controlled Substance registrationCPR certificationComputer skills required: Electronic Medical/Health Record; ADP Payroll Systems; Purchasing/Inventory Software; Microsoft Office
