About the Role

This position is with the Community Health Services (CHS) Division at the Bradley County Health Department in Cleveland, TN. The role involves clinical nursing specialty duties, functioning as a clinical nurse practitioner in a specialty area to provide assessment, diagnosis, and nursing/medical care for patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient's health status, efficacy of care, and response to treatments to ensure patient progress and the best possible outcome.
• Devise evidence-based treatment strategies for patients with difficult diagnoses.
• Prescribe medication dosages and frequencies based on patients' characteristics, detect and respond to adverse drug reactions, and handle medical emergencies.
• Perform basic life support and CPR, provide psychosocial counseling, preventative health care, and patient-specific care.
• Analyze findings from physical examinations, laboratory reports, and other diagnostic testing.
• Review patient history from medical records, order appropriate diagnostic tests, and gather information to determine the reason for hospitalization, office visits, or chief complaints.
• Safeguard medical records in accordance with agency directives and state and federal laws.
• Audit patient charts for protocol compliance, standards of care, and adherence to agency and accrediting/licensing organization guidelines.
• Collaborate with consulting physicians about patient plans of care.
• Participate in orientation for new staff, deliver health-related training, and act as a preceptor to students in medical, nursing, pharmacy, or nurse practitioner programs.
• Lead patient treatment teams to coordinate patient care.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in a nursing clinical specialty area with preparation in specialized practitioner skills or possession of a Certificate of Fitness from the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse with an Advanced Practice Nurse certificate in the State of Tennessee.
• Current national certification or eligibility for national certification in the appropriate nursing specialty area.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse with an Advanced Practice Nurse certificate in Tennessee and national certification in the appropriate nursing specialty area are required within 60 days of employment.
• Possession of a Certificate of Fitness from the Tennessee Board of Nursing is required within 60 days of employment.
• Must meet State of Tennessee driver standards: a valid driver's license with no DUI, reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than 4 moving violations in the past five years.

Pay

Monthly salary: $7,458.00 - $9,697.00

Annual salary: $89,496.00 - $116,364.00
