NURSE PRACTITIONER - 08182026-80009

Location: Department of Health, Bradley County Health Department, Cleveland, TN

This position is full-time and requires a criminal background check.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in a nursing clinical specialty area with preparation in specialized practitioner skills or possession of a Certificate of Fitness from the Tennessee Board of Nursing.

Necessary Special Qualifications:

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse with Advanced Practice Nurse certificate in the State of Tennessee and current national certification or eligible for national certification in the appropriate nursing specialty area.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse with Advanced Practice Nurse certificate in the State of Tennessee and national certification in the appropriate nursing specialty area are required within 60 days after employment.
• Possession of a Certificate of Fitness from the Tennessee Board of Nursing is also required within 60 days after employment.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past five years (no DUI, reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than 4 moving violations).

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient's health status, efficacy of care, and response to treatments to ensure patient progress and the best possible outcome.
• Devises evidence-based treatment strategies to meet the needs of patients with difficult diagnoses.
• Prescribes medication dosages and frequencies based on patients' characteristics, detects and responds to adverse drug reactions, responds to medical emergencies, performs basic life support and CPR, provides psychosocial counseling, provides preventative health care, and provides care according to patient needs.
• Analyzes findings from physical examination, laboratory reports, and other diagnostic testing.
• Reviews patient history from medical records, orders appropriate diagnostic tests, and obtains information from patients or others to determine the reason for hospitalization, office visit, or chief complaint.
• Safeguards medical records in accordance with agency directives and state and federal law.
• Audits patient charts for protocol, standards of care, and compliance with agency and outside accrediting/licensing organization's guidelines.
• Collaborates with consulting physician about patient's plan of care.
• Participates in orientation for new staff, delivers health-related training, and acts as a preceptor to students in medical, nursing, pharmacy, or nurse practitioner programs.
• Leads patient treatment teams as necessary to coordinate patient care.

Pay

Monthly: $7,458.00 - $9,697.00

Annually: $89,496.00 - $116,364.00
