Nurse Practice Manager

About the role

This is not a traditional practice management role. You’ll join at an early stage with the chance to help build a health center and a care model from the ground up. That means real ownership, real influence, and the ability to shape how clinical and operational excellence comes to life day-to-day.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a care team in a brand-new environment
  • Influence how care is delivered and coordinated
  • Improve outcomes for Medicare patients through a more thoughtful, proactive approach
  • Help define what “great” looks like as we scale into new markets
  • Provide direct patient care, triage, and education to ensure adherence to clinical standards and best practices
  • Oversee and mentor clinical staff in workflows, patient safety, and quality care delivery utilizing a nursing lens
  • Lead day-to-day clinic operations, including scheduling and resource management, ensuring efficiency and compliance
  • Achieve goals related to quality, financial performance, patient satisfaction, and staff engagement
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, and mentorship for a growing clinical team
  • Act as an advocate for both patients and staff, fostering a supportive, inclusive, and patient-centered culture

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive experience as a registered nurse in a primary care, community health, or ambulatory setting
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred

Skills and Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of clinical judgment, patient care, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with healthcare operations, clinical practices, billing, reimbursement, and quality improvement
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and providing performance management to direct reports
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision-making
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication abilities
  • Mission-driven, collaborative mindset and a passion for improving access to high-quality primary care
