About the Role

Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct our facility’s staff growth and development in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Ensure the highest degree of quality resident care and safety is maintained at all times.

Assist with Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) by planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing programs to enhance resident care in line with Department of Public Health and CMS rules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training objectives, strategies, policies, and programs to enhance employee development.
  • Assist licensed nursing personnel (RNs, LPNs, and C.N.A.’s) in obtaining in-service training to maintain licensure as required by state law.
  • Provide in-service training as necessary or required.
  • Coordinate the annual Employee Education fair in conjunction with each department.
  • Establish and maintain tracking systems for recommendations related to staff training and development.
  • Develop staff mentors and trainers.
  • Evaluate in-house and outside training programs for future use in staff growth and development.
  • Conduct needs evaluations and design curricula to meet those needs.
  • Liaise with management to ensure training programs align with corporate goals.
  • Ensure all new employees complete orientation and follow up with them weekly for a month and monthly for three months to support their success.
  • Prepare necessary reports.
  • Serve on facility committees (e.g., safety committee, clinical task force) as needed.
  • Perform nursing care and consultation functions, including monitoring medication passes, treatments, admission processes, care plan development, and discharge facilitation.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining written care plans for residents, including those in isolation or on infection control precautions.
  • Assist with budgetary planning and projections for staff development.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident care information, including protected health information.
  • Assist with safety and sanitation by identifying, evaluating, and classifying job-related functions with potential exposure to blood/body fluids.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Consistently provide service excellence reflecting JML’s commitment to compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and service.

Requirements

  • Active RN license required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of college education.
  • Sufficient previous experience in clinical healthcare, including direct experience in Performance Improvement.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in a timely manner when circumstances warrant.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to contribute positively to a team environment.
  • Ability to interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI), staff development, and infection control procedures.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability, with a willingness to work harmoniously with others.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for quality management and outcomes.
  • Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a cheerful disposition, with the ability to handle difficult residents and staff.
  • Willingness to adopt new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing practices.
  • Ability to relay information concerning a resident’s condition.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and meet all other physical and sensory job requirements.

Pay

Annual salary range: $75,000 – $98,000 (based on full-time employment).

Schedule

24 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
