Responsibilities

• Complete initial patient assessment and reassessments as indicated by patient condition, ensuring compliance with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
• Demonstrate critical thinking by implementing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
• Provide safe and effective care for the assigned patient population, ensuring compliance with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
• Manage medication administration and intravenous (IV) access according to physician's orders.
• Document nursing care and patient status in accordance with the nursing process.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care-delivery team in verbal and written form to promote patient and family-centered care.

Requirements

• One (1) full year of experience as a PACU nurse in an acute care facility providing care to Adult and Pediatric populations.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) or AM Stroke ASC (National) certification at hire/transfer.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two (2) years of PACU experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute certification upon hire.
