Responsibilities

  • Complete initial patient assessments and reassessments as indicated by patient condition, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking by implementing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Perform physical tasks safely and effectively to care for the assigned patient population.
  • Manage medication administration and intravenous (IV) access according to physician's orders, adhering to policies and professional standards.
  • Document nursing care and patient status in accordance with the nursing process and established guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care-delivery team to promote patient- and family-centered care.

Requirements

  • One (1) full year of experience as a PACU nurse in an acute care facility providing care to adult and pediatric populations.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Nevada.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification at hire/transfer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of PACU experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Critical RN certification in Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute care upon hire.

Pay

$51.71 - $71.72 per hour.
