Nurse (per diem)

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse is responsible for administering medication to clients as outlined in medication administration policy. The control, counting, and appropriate documentation of onsite medication. Educating clients on use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medication assisted treatment. Verifying medication orders with the physician and transcribing physician’s orders. Assisting in the admission process and documenting substance use diagnosis as required.

Responsibilities

• Administering medication to clients as per policy
• Controlling, counting, and documenting medication appropriately
• Educating clients about medication use, purposes, side effects, and related information
• Verifying medication orders with physicians and transcribing them
• Aiding in the admission process and documenting substance use diagnoses

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
• Current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire
• Appropriate independent judgment to resolve problems and handle emergencies
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting
• Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred

Pay

$33.00/hour (LPN), $36.00/hour (RN). + $3.00 weekend shift differential
