About the role

Nurses at the Indian Health Service (IHS) are dedicated to improving the health of American Indian and Alaska Native communities. They provide compassionate care in underserved areas, ensuring that patients receive the medical attention they need.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in various settings.
• Assess patient needs and develop treatment plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
• Document patient care activities accurately and maintain patient records.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Experience in providing care to American Indian and Alaska Native populations preferred.
• Knowledge of cultural sensitivity and community-based healthcare practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Passing score on the NCLEX-RN examination.
• Completion of a hospital-based clinical rotation.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
