Nurse (Outpatient)

About the role

Nurses at the Indian Health Service (IHS) are dedicated to improving the health of American Indian and Alaska Native communities. They provide compassionate care in areas where it is most needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality medical care to patients in underserved communities.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
• Contribute to research and development of culturally appropriate healthcare practices.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required. Additional requirements may include:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Experience working in a healthcare setting serving American Indian and Alaska Native populations.
• Knowledge of cultural competency and its application in healthcare delivery.

• Have experience in rural or remote healthcare settings.
