About the role
Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is committed to delivering high-quality psychiatric healthcare through our mental health programs. We provide a safe and accepting environment for patients, with 152 beds and a team of qualified, experienced personnel dedicated to the highest level of care. The Mobile Assessor evaluates patients, conducts crisis screenings, and coordinates emergency mental health placements to ensure patients are referred to the most appropriate service or resource.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mental health assessments in the field
- Determine the correct level of care for patients
- Coordinate safe hospital admissions and crisis care
- Consult with the Intake department, CNO, and CEO regarding admission acceptability
- Represent and distribute information about Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital services to community healthcare entities
- Stay current on referral sources and interact effectively with patients, peers, and staff on treatment options
- Understand and communicate disease pathology associated with behavioral conditions and their treatment models
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, nursing staff, and health professionals in assigned community areas
- Demonstrate strong skills in assessing client crises and clinical indicators
- Maintain knowledge of legal guidelines pertaining to EMTALA/COBRA and abuse/neglect reporting
Requirements
- Licensed in the State of Nevada as a Registered Nurse (required)
- Previous Mobile Assessment experience (preferred)
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license (required)
- Valid car insurance (required)
- Experience in crisis intervention and psychiatric triage
