Nurse Manager - Special Care Nursery (SCN)
Job Summary
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the operational functions of the nursing unit(s) he/she oversees. Responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the mission, vision, strategic imperatives, and standards of Lexington Health District (LHD), American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards, and the provisions set forth by the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing
- Minimum Years of Experience: 3 Years of Experience as an RN (At least 2 Years Should be in a Leadership Position/Capacity)
- Required Certifications/Licensure: Current RN License to Practice in the State of South Carolina; National Nursing Certification in Specialty at Time of Hire (or must be required within 6 months of Hire/Promotion); Maintains Current CPR certification.

- Serves as patient/family advocate.
- Ability to acquire and administer human, financial, material and information resources.
- Provision of high standards of care and practice in area(s) of responsibility.
- Maintains individual professional accountability.
- Ensures Hazardous Waste or Hazardous Waste Pharmaceuticals are discarded, stored, and managed with other compatible waste streams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads with integrity, determination, initiative, and purpose, encouraging others to act with passion and drive.
- Meets all requirements as defined by Lexington Medical Center’s policies.
- Ensures Hazardous Waste or Hazardous Waste Pharmaceuticals are discarded, stored, and managed with other compatible waste streams.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
