About the role
Provides clinical leadership in conjunction with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)/Director of Nursing (DON) and assumes the responsibility for nursing administrative decisions in the absence of the CNO/DON. Areas of focus include nursing staffing and assignments, performance evaluation, clinical and administrative decision-making related to nursing care, and continuous improvement of nursing and rehabilitation care.
Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and maintains quality nursing care on the unit.
- Responsible and accountable for the overall management of nursing care on the unit.
- Assures compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Assists in the development and implementation of unit goals and objectives.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient care.
- Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and standards of practice.
Requirements
- RN License in the state you are applying
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification is preferred initially and required after 90 days of employment.
- ACLS is REQUIRED from day 1 for all Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU.
Qualifications
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience and supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
