About the role

The Nurse Manager assists the Director in the coordination, supervision, and management of all personnel and patient care activities of the 1 North West Coed Adolescent Psychiatric Unit at Spring Harbor Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with psychiatrists, social workers, educators, and clinical program leaders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health care.
  • Ensures a positive and inclusive work environment through fostering a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentors, develops, and supports care team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Oversees comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, individual and family therapy, occupational therapy interventions, and positive behavioral incentives and supports.
  • Manages on-site academic tutoring and recreational opportunities for patients.
  • Coordinates treatment and programming that includes dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, milieu activities, and skills-based groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
  • RNC preferred.
  • Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing required.
  • 2+ years of psychiatric nursing or comparable experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates leadership and management skills.
  • Demonstrates expertise in clinical practice and judgment.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills.
