Nurse Manager (RN), Acute Care

Responsibilities
- Manages the daily operations of the assigned department functioning to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
- Responsible for the direction of patient care with the assigned scope.
- Aids in developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
- Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
- Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
- Maintains departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
- Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
- Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
- May provide patient care when necessary.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Requirements
- Current Alabama or compact state RN license.
- An associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or current enrollment in a bachelor's program for nursing required.
- Three or more years of experience in all aspects of medical surgical nursing and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
Qualifications
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Experience in managing a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in nursing.

Pay
The base compensation for this position is not specified, but it comes with comprehensive benefits including a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for well-qualified applicants.
