Nurse Manager Operating Room

About the role
You will provide leadership and expertise to ensure all patients receive high-quality, efficient care in a surgical environment. This role oversees the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care for assigned departments on a 24-hour basis, ensuring compliance with nursing standards, policies, and legal/regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with physicians, patients, and the healthcare team to coordinate care and drive hospital-wide improvements in core measures, patient safety, and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and take responsibility for the delivery of safe, quality patient care for assigned departments on a 24-hour basis.
- Ensure departmental nursing practices, policies, and procedures meet legal and accrediting/regulatory agency requirements.
- Promote continuity of care through an interdisciplinary team approach.
- Collaborate and share pertinent patient information with physicians, patients, and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment.
- Develop and implement programs to measure, monitor, assess, and improve the quality of nursing care delivered to patients.
- Coordinate patient care with other services and departments throughout the hospital.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
- Nursing diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
- Proficiency with PC skills.
