Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Makes daily admissions and discharges to the Crisis Unit to maintain high occupancy rate.
  • Collaborates with BHL, Community Providers, and Regional DBHDD staff to coordinate the system of CSU management and service delivery.
  • Maintains fiscal year budget expectations for the Crisis Unit by monitoring program purchases, pharmaceutical costs, position requisitions, and overtime usage.
  • Audits charts and analyzes data to improve service delivery and clinical outcomes.
  • Performs direct care duties including nursing assessments, medication administration, and crisis intervention.
  • Supervises, educates, and coaches subordinate staff to promote professional growth.
  • Completes incident reports and infection control reports within 24 hours of occurrence and follows up as necessary.
  • Schedules unit staff to meet individual needs.
  • Facilitates in-service trainings and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintains quality improvement (QI) reports, statistical reporting data, and infection control reports for the Crisis Stabilization Unit.
  • Collaborates with CSU medical staff and the Crisis Director to achieve the highest clinical outcomes for individuals.
  • Completes additional job responsibilities as assigned by management staff.
