Nurse Manager - Child Advocacy Centers
About the role
Atrium Health Levine Children’s Advocacy Centers (CAC) are places that advocate for abused children in our community. With a team of RN’s, Medical Providers, a victim advocates, forensic interviewers and office personnel, the CAC team works closely with law enforcement, mental health, the District Attorney’s office, and Child Protective Services to make sure abused children in our community have a voice. The Nurse Manager at a Child Advocacy Center (CAC) leads the medical and nursing operations within a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and support victims of child abuse.
Responsibilities
- Assists leadership with departmental budget management, grant reporting, and medical billing oversight.
- Provides operational oversight for four Child Advocacy Centers, maintaining a consistent on-site presence at each location.
- Obtains and maintains training as a Family Advocate and Forensic Interviewer to support multidisciplinary teams.
- Serves as the primary lead for grant management at Jeff Gordon Child Advocacy Center.
- Develops and maintains clinical protocols, infection control guidelines, and medical procedures aligned with state statutes and National Children’s Alliance standards and accreditation.
- Supervises Clinic staff, and care coordinators, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team (MDT) case reviews and team building, ensuring clear communication of medical findings to law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors and other as defined by protocol.
- Provides medical or forensic nursing testimony and/or advocacy in court proceedings as required.
- Promotes and ensures delivery of trauma-informed, culturally competent care for vulnerable children and their non-offending caregivers.
- Collaborates with Physician and Advanced Practice Providers.
- Continually demonstrates and supports a Professional Practice model that allows nurses to work in collaboration with interdisciplinary partners to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.
- Ensures that unit operations and employees are in compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, regulatory agency standards, and policies and procedures.
- Functions as a team member to accomplish goals and objectives of the unit and the organization, upholding quality management, patient care, and departmental standards.
- Assumes responsibility in the recruitment and retention of qualified staff and to ensure appropriate orientation, education, credentialing and continuing professional development of personnel through mutual goal setting and performance evaluation.
- Delegates effectively by promoting shared governance, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes.
- Performs nursing care, assists with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administers medications as necessary.
- Provides and assesses effectiveness of patient and family education.
- Participates with performance improvement activities to improve quality of nursing care, promote patient outcomes and provide a cost effective environment for patient care.
- Assists in development of policies, procedures and standards reflective of evidence based practice.
- Promotes shared accountability for professional practice.
- Allocates resources to meet the unit needs.
- Responsible for budgetary oversight, and along with staff involvement, accountable to the organization for maintaining a cost effective unit.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- BLS required per policy guidelines.
- Appropriate professional certification (either clinical or leadership) is required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam.
Qualifications
- Previous management experience preferred.

$47.50 - $71.25
Schedule
Full time - 40 hours per week Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
