Nurse Manager - Cardiac Acute Care (Days)

About the role

The Nurse Manager performs nursing duties following hospital policy/procedure and supervises other nursing personnel who are responsible for patient care. The Nurse Manager assumes 24 hour responsibility for the management of patient care and the personnel who are assigned to that area. This nurse has an in depth knowledge of nursing practice/management and takes responsibility for the development and nurturing of self. This position will include accountability for maintaining high standards of patient care and nursing practice for the entire unit. The Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating and coordinating the nursing care provided on the unit utilizing the nursing process.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing duties following hospital policy/procedure
• Supervises other nursing personnel responsible for patient care
• Assumes 24‑hour responsibility for management of patient care and assigned personnel
• Maintains in‑depth knowledge of nursing practice/management and takes responsibility for self‑development
• Accountable for maintaining high standards of patient care and nursing practice for the entire unit
• Prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care on the unit utilizing the nursing process

Requirements

• Education: Associate Degree or 2 years of college coursework
• Experience: Five years of related experience; requires broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures
• Licenses & Certifications: Georgia Registered Nurse or Multistate Nursing License; Healthcare Provider (CPR)

Qualifications

• B.S. in nursing preferred
