Job Summary

Has twenty-four-hour accountability for the overall operation of one or more nursing units. Ensures the delivery of quality patient care through proper implementation of the nursing process for all age groups served in the unit(s). Coordinates unit-based quality assessment and improvement efforts. Manages unit(s) within established budgetary parameters. Serves as the primary liaison between unit(s) and other members of the healthcare team. Maintains an atmosphere which ensures SGMC Health’s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, goals, policies and standards are consistently met.

About the Role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Current RN license in the State of Georgia.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related area strongly preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Certification in appropriate specialty preferred.
- Four (4) years experience in nursing or paramedicine experience (a combination of experience is acceptable)
- Relevant clinical experience
- Leadership, supervision, and/or management experience
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care.
- Ability to lead and develop others individually and as a team, and to be an effective team member.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and adapt to new situations, critically think and analyze, utilize problem solving techniques, and set priorities.
- Demonstrated skill in verbal, non-verbal and behavioral communication.
- Demonstrated current knowledge of patient care, leadership, and management principles.
- Ability to operate clinical equipment, and office equipment such as computers, telecommunications devices, etc.
