Nurse, LPN/LVN Days Part Time (Sundays required)
About the role
Covenant Living, the nation’s sixth-largest nonprofit senior living provider, is seeking Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs) to help fulfill our mission: to create joy and peace of mind for our residents and their families by creating a better way of life. Positions are available in assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care.
This role ensures quality care through monitoring staff performance, physician contact, care planning, and daily resident observation. LPNs/LVNs also provide direct care to residents in accordance with nursing standards, procedures, and state/federal regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide routine daily direction and monitor the work of nursing assistants to ensure high standards of care and task completion.
- Assist in the orientation of new LPNs/LVNs and nursing assistants, reinforcing training standards to maintain quality care.
- Explain nursing procedures and provide ongoing assistance to staff to ensure understanding and training.
- Communicate regularly with the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing regarding observations, problem areas, resident/employee activities, concerns, and needs.
- Observe and evaluate residents' health, mental, and emotional conditions, reporting significant changes to appropriate staff, physicians, and family members as needed.
- Provide direct patient care, including catheter placement and care, colostomy care, suction, dressings, naso-gastric tubes, and other treatments.
- Participate in shift reports to ensure proper communication about residents.
- Assist in the admission, orientation, and observation of new residents, ensuring physician orders for diets, therapy, and medication are transcribed and communicated according to procedure.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of licensed practical/vocational nursing.
- Current, unrestricted LPN/LVN license in the state of employment.
- One year of nursing experience.
- Commitment to professional nursing standards and principles.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $33.60 - $46.05 per hour. Factors influencing the actual offered rate include job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and internal/external equity considerations.
