Nurse II (Full Time/First Shift/Temporary - Benefited)

Join our team as a Registered Nurse and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing cancer and cancer-related health challenges. In this role, you’ll provide expert patient care, health teaching, and counseling while delivering interventions that restore and support well-being. You’ll work collaboratively with physicians and licensed providers to carry out medical regimens and lead a dedicated care team of nurses and clinical support staff. Beyond daily patient care, you’ll also take part in professional development opportunities through workshops, in-service training, and ongoing education.

About the role

This is a temporary, benefited position within the Ambulatory Services - Breast department. You will work full time on the first shift, with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours (0.9375 FTE).

Responsibilities

• Provide expert patient care, health teaching, and counseling.
• Deliver interventions that restore and support patient well-being.
• Collaborate with physicians and licensed providers to carry out medical regimens.
• Lead a dedicated care team of nurses and clinical support staff.
• Participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops, in-service training, and ongoing education.

Requirements

• License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• One of the following experience requirements:
  • One (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience; or
  • One (1) year of full-time critical care experience; or
  • Two (2) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting; or
  • One (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting and completion of Roswell Park nursing orientation with the ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months (full-time) as a Nurse I at Roswell Park.
• Incumbents will serve a one (1) year full-time probationary period as a Nurse II.
• Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.

Pay

Starting hourly rate is $47.58.
