Responsibilities

  • Adhere to departmental policies, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Precept new staff and evaluate clinical performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet department objectives and maintain infection control.
  • Prepare patients, assist with assessments, and document medical histories.
  • Resolve complex patient and management issues independently using clinical expertise.
  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and communicate effectively using AIDET principles.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures, maintaining a safe environment.
  • Accurately record and maintain medical records, reports, and supplies.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, relay test results, and provide education.
  • Follow policies, inspect clinical areas for compliance, and take corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver appropriate care per physician orders.
  • Perform age-specific care skills, problem-solve patient care issues, and pursue professional development.

Qualifications

  • Completed nursing degree and valid RN license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional nursing experience, preferably in cardiac or cardiothoracic surgery.
  • CPR certification.
