Qualifications
- Registered Nurse or LPN license from the State of Tennessee
- Two years of related experience
- Experience working with adults with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders (highly desirable)
Responsibilities
- Provide medical screening of all clients
- Conduct screening, admission, and referral interviews as scheduled
- Act as liaison with the Clinical Department to ensure physical histories and examinations are scheduled and completed
- Provide recommended medical treatments and referrals
- Dispense medications when on duty and supervise self-medication procedures
- Maintain appropriate medical records and provide relevant medical information to other clinical staff
- Assure clients are medically appropriate for admission to agency programs
- Conduct TB skin tests on new clients and staff
- Act as liaison with Medical Providers to provide recommended treatments to clients
- Conduct/monitor pill counts with MAT clients as needed
- Obtain urine specimens as needed
- Conduct evaluations of clients' medical and/or psychiatric complaints and make referrals to appropriate clinics or physicians when indicated
- Provide appropriate documentation of all medical evaluations, complaints, recommendations, treatments, and referrals
- Provide nutritional counseling to clients in accordance with accepted dietary standards for healthful recovery and individual needs
- Assist with organizing and maintaining inventory control of all medications, emergency, and medical supplies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
