Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse or LPN license from the State of Tennessee
  • Two years of related experience
  • Experience working with adults with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders (highly desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical screening of all clients
  • Conduct screening, admission, and referral interviews as scheduled
  • Act as liaison with the Clinical Department to ensure physical histories and examinations are scheduled and completed
  • Provide recommended medical treatments and referrals
  • Dispense medications when on duty and supervise self-medication procedures
  • Maintain appropriate medical records and provide relevant medical information to other clinical staff
  • Assure clients are medically appropriate for admission to agency programs
  • Conduct TB skin tests on new clients and staff
  • Act as liaison with Medical Providers to provide recommended treatments to clients
  • Conduct/monitor pill counts with MAT clients as needed
  • Obtain urine specimens as needed
  • Conduct evaluations of clients' medical and/or psychiatric complaints and make referrals to appropriate clinics or physicians when indicated
  • Provide appropriate documentation of all medical evaluations, complaints, recommendations, treatments, and referrals
  • Provide nutritional counseling to clients in accordance with accepted dietary standards for healthful recovery and individual needs
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining inventory control of all medications, emergency, and medical supplies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
