About the role
The Nurse Extern is a vital member of the nursing team, providing hands-on patient care under supervision to support safe, compassionate, and quality healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), vital signs, mobility, comfort, and hygiene.
- Perform basic nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection.
- Accurately document care and communicate updates to the nursing team.
- Educate patients and families about care plans and recovery processes.
- Maintain infection control, manage equipment, and ensure a clean, safe environment.
- Engage in learning opportunities, share ideas, and collaborate on personal career development.
Qualifications
- Completion of at least 1 year of nursing school or as required by state regulations.
- Current NC CNA registry license.
- Preferred: 1+ years in an acute care setting.
- No prior experience required.
