About the role
The Nurse Extern supports the nursing team by providing compassionate, safe patient care and gaining hands-on experience in the nursing field.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Measure and record vital signs
- Assist with patient mobility and hygiene
- Provide wound and catheter care
- Collect specimens
- Document care accurately
- Communicate effectively with patients and families
- Maintain infection control standards
- Collaborate with the nursing team to improve care and develop skills
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment
