Nurse Educator - Progressive Care

About the Role

This position is for a Nurse Educator in Progressive Care, responsible for supporting clinical practice, education, and professional development within high-acuity nursing units.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate orientation, competency validation, and ongoing education for progressive care nurses.
• Develop educational materials, simulation scenarios, and skills labs aligned with clinical guidelines and standards.
• Provide real-time coaching, precepting, and mentoring to promote safe practice and quality outcomes.
• Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes, adopt evidence-based protocols, and support quality and safety projects.
• Analyze performance metrics, identify practice gaps, and create targeted educational interventions.
• Support staff in sepsis management, cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and early recognition of deterioration.
• Foster teamwork through preceptor programs, certification support, and participation in clinical committees.
• Assist with policy development, accreditation readiness, and staff education on documentation and safety protocols.
• Support onboarding and professional growth of new and experienced nurses, including leadership development.
• Collaborate with leadership, support staff development, implement educational programs, and contribute to quality improvement efforts to enhance patient care and safety in progressive care settings.

Requirements

• Experienced progressive care RN with excellent communication and teaching skills.
• BSN required; master’s in nursing education or related field preferred.
• Current RN licensure, BLS, ACLS certifications; PCCN or similar certification preferred or to be obtained.
• Experience in nursing education, staff development, or precepting highly valued.
