About the role
The Nurse Educator enhances nursing practice and patient care quality by developing and delivering evidence-based educational programs for clinical staff. This includes onboarding, competency management, and addressing practice gaps. The role involves designing, managing, and evaluating orientation and competency activities, collaborating with leadership to tailor educational initiatives, and promoting evidence-based practice (EBP), research, and quality improvement (QI).
The Nurse Educator develops targeted educational content to improve knowledge, skills, and practice, fostering lifelong learning and skill mastery. They identify learning needs and create strategies to support staff development across licensed and non-licensed personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; Master’s preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in clinical education, leadership, or acute care are preferred.
- Valid RN licensure and Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification are required.
- Knowledge of clinical standards and ability to travel up to 25% are essential.
