About the role

The Clinical Educator – RN is a clinical professional who actively participates in designing, implementing, and overseeing therapeutic programs within a healthcare setting. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, training other nursing staff, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure programs effectively address patient needs and goals, while contributing to ongoing program evaluation and improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the CNO in developing new nursing programs, including defining goals, selecting interventions, and creating program structure and protocols.
  • Develop orientation and educational goals and objectives set by the CEO and Director of Compliance to accomplish organizational missions.
  • Review and update new hire training to ensure clinical staff are prepared to work independently.
  • Train and supervise nursing staff on program implementation, ensuring fidelity to program design and quality of care.
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor patient progress, evaluate program effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Specialize in areas such as mental health programs, developmental disabilities, pediatric therapy, and geriatric therapy.
  • Provide clinical services orientation, reeducation, competency, and refresher training to staff.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify needs, strengths, and areas for improvement, and inform staff on milieu management improvements.
  • Ensure nursing staff design individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure nursing staff provide direct therapeutic interventions, including de-escalation, proper restraint and seclusions, and administering medication as appropriate.
  • Assist patients and caregivers with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists, to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance, safety, infection control, and environmental procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold the organization's ethics and customer service standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Licensed RN authorized to practice in the State of Texas.
  • CPR and SAMA certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Three years of progressively responsible full-time experience as a licensed RN.
  • Three years of acute psychiatric care experience desired.
  • Must be 21 years old or older.
