Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Assume responsibility for and supervision of the appropriate care of medical equipment.
• Provide pre-attending care for patients, including comprehensive assessments of the chief complaint and patient needs.
• Document all nursing assessments in the patient’s medical record, ensuring that all documentation is clear, complete, and legible.
• Perform routine nursing duties, including phlebotomy, medication administration, measurement of vital signs, and preparation of lab specimens.
• Demonstrate clinical competency when performing complex specialty-related procedures.
• Interpret and define abnormalities detected in tests and procedures, then take appropriate remedial action.
• Communicate and collaborate with other departments to coordinate appropriate patient care.
• Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills and service standards.
• Manage urgent/emergent medical situations as appropriate and in accordance with the organization’s protocols.
• Serve as a resource for staff and physicians for daily problem solving and decision-making.
• Initiate and coordinate patient education, ensuring that patients understand educational materials and can exhibit return demonstration when pertinent.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment
• Certification in Basic CPR
• 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing (may be required for certain positions)
