About the role
This role is within the Asthma/Allergy/Immunology team and focuses on supporting food allergic patients. Key responsibilities include supporting oral food challenges and oral immunotherapy for kids/families with food allergies, as well as providing patient education and care management.
Responsibilities
- Support oral food challenges and oral immunotherapy for food allergic patients
- Partner with other food allergy nurses for patient education and care management
- Work both clinically and in triage settings
- Assist with general asthma/allergy clinic needs
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- 2+ years of licensed nursing experience required
- 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience preferred
- Experience managing patients with chronic and complex family and health needs preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient pediatric assessment skills, using a developmental approach
- Ability to work with patients who have intellectual and physical disabilities in a developmentally appropriate manner
- Proficiency with computers and an electronic medical record
- Independent judgment and analytical ability to problem solve and make decisions
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills for discussing sensitive issues with patients and caregivers
- Expertise in active listening and therapeutic communication
- Critical reasoning and astute clinical judgment to expedite appropriate care and treatment
Qualifications
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required
- Licensed RN-Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin required

Pay
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
