Nurse Clinician – Asthma/Allergy

About the role

This role is within the Asthma/Allergy/Immunology team and focuses on supporting food allergic patients. Key responsibilities include supporting oral food challenges and oral immunotherapy for kids/families with food allergies, as well as providing patient education and care management.

Responsibilities

• Support oral food challenges and oral immunotherapy for food allergic patients
• Partner with other food allergy nurses for patient education and care management
• Work both clinically and in triage settings
• Assist with general asthma/allergy clinic needs

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• 2+ years of licensed nursing experience required
• 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Experience managing patients with chronic and complex family and health needs preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Proficient pediatric assessment skills, using a developmental approach
• Ability to work with patients who have intellectual and physical disabilities in a developmentally appropriate manner
• Proficiency with computers and an electronic medical record
• Independent judgment and analytical ability to problem solve and make decisions
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills for discussing sensitive issues with patients and caregivers
• Expertise in active listening and therapeutic communication
• Critical reasoning and astute clinical judgment to expedite appropriate care and treatment

Qualifications

• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required
• Licensed RN-Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin required

Pay

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The role is full-time, working 8:00am-4:30pm, with potential for remote work in some locations.
