About the role

The Field Nurse Case Manager supports injured workers in Virginia Beach and nearby areas such as Williamsburg, Newport News, and Hampton. The role involves managing medical case management for work-related injuries, coordinating with various stakeholders, and reporting progress to employers and insurance carriers.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the medical needs of injured/disabled individuals.
  • Work with insurance carriers, medical care providers, attorneys, employers, and employees.
  • Closely monitor the progress of the injured worker and report results to the employer and insurance carriers.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in VA.
  • Experience in case management of workers comp cases, preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and take catastrophic cases.
  • Recommended certifications (CCM, CRRN, CDMS, CRC) preferred, to be obtained within two years of hire.

Qualifications

  • Organization and timeline adherence skills.
  • PC and technology skills.
  • Communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).
  • Ability to operate autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Skilled at patient education.
  • Valid Driver’s License, and good driving history.
