Nurse Assistant - Same Day Surgery

Time Type: PRN
Typical Hours: 8-hour, staggered shifts start from 5:00am -11:00am

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and indirect patient care tasks as delegated by licensed nursing personnel
• Provide basic patient care including bathing, hygiene, elimination, toileting, nutrition feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning
• Support patient safety and satisfaction by performing regular patient rounds on the nursing unit
• Effectively communicate with all team members
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Successful completion and proof of an unlicensed assistive personnel curriculum that meets the minimum training standards as outlined in 19 CSR 30-20.125 (required), or documented experience as one of the following:
  • Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Room Technician, or Surgical Technician in the past three years
  • Completion of a LPN program outside the U.S. while awaiting licensure examination
  • Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or equivalent course
  • Nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass state licensure examinations in the past three years
  • Certified as a nursing assistant as defined in section 198.082, RSMo
• BLS Certification
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience (preferred)
• Previous computer experience (preferred)
