Nurse Assistant II- Burn Unit

Full-time position in the Burn Unit at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. 35.1 hours per week on a 12-hour day shift, including every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the implementation of the nursing process by giving direct care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN). Assists with admissions, transfers, discharges, pre- and post-operative care.
  • Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic physical environment (e.g., hallways, utility rooms, par stock, kitchen) and minimizes risk of injury by promoting fall precautions, use of call bell, side rails, and other safety measures, including appropriate lift equipment for patients, self, co-workers, and facility.
  • Ensures complete, accurate, and timely communication of patient information.
  • Performs special procedures correctly under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Communicates effectively, positively, and professionally with the team, co-workers, patients, and family members.
  • Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance and professional growth and development.
  • Provides age/developmental appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of an applicable state Board of Nursing approved Nurse Aide II course or listed as a Nurse Aide II as a nursing student.
  • State Board of Nursing listing as a Nurse Aide II.
  • Registered as a Nurse Aide I with the applicable state Department of Health and Human Service Regulation.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

  • Occasionally subject to irregular hours.
  • Uses personal protective equipment.

Pay

$20.80 - $31.20 per hour.
