About the role

The Nurse Assistant Apprentice will perform specific patient care duties under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN) and/or licensed clinician.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient.
• Provides input to assist the RN and/or licensed clinician in planning and implementing patient care.
• Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.
• Recognizes and participates in own continuing education.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Successfully complete HFHS Nurse Assistant Apprenticeship Program recognized by the Department of Labor (DOL).
• Complete all HFHS Nurse Assistant Apprenticeship Program competencies within the designated timeframe.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and understand verbal and written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and customer skills are required to interact effectively with individuals from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Able to lift, carry, transfer, and move clients if needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan driver's license and a dependable vehicle insured as required by the State of Michigan.

Skills

• BLS Heart Saver Certification.
