Nurse Assistant 5 North MHB

Facility: Mercy Hospital of Buffalo | Full Time, 0.94 FTE | Bargaining Unit: CWA Local 1133 | Non-exempt

About the Role

Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides nursing care to non-acutely ill patients, and helps maintain a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the patients and/or nursing unit.

Schedule

Nights with weekend and holiday rotation | 7:00 PM – 7:15 AM

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
• Support nursing staff in delivering safe, cost-effective care
• Maintain awareness of safety measures in patient care
• Conserve supplies, equipment, and time in a cost-effective environment
• Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• BLS certification within six (6) months of hire/transfer
• No prior experience required
• Sufficient mental and physical health to perform strenuous activities including bending, lifting, and walking
• Desire and ability to meet the needs of acute-care patients
• Computer literacy and ability to read with comprehension
• Ability to cope with stress and handle multiple priorities
