About the Role

A Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is responsible for administering anesthetics during surgical, obstetrical, and medical procedures while ensuring patient safety and optimal care.

Responsibilities

  • Administer general anesthesia and monitor vital signs throughout procedures.
  • Prepare and set up anesthetic drugs, supplies, and equipment, including testing gas machines and ensuring emergency blood availability.
  • Assess patient records to predict anesthetic effects, explain procedures, and position patients appropriately.
  • Assist in patient transfer, monitor post-anesthesia recovery, and manage adverse effects.
  • Supervise and instruct student nurse anesthetists, residents, interns, and allied health students.
  • Maintain accurate records of administered anesthetics and perform equipment maintenance and cleanup.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited MSN, DNP, or DNAP CRNA program.
  • Current CRNA certification and RN licensure with approval to practice as a CRNA.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply; no prior experience required beyond education and training.
