About the role

Administer anesthesia during surgical, obstetrical, and medical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Administer general anesthetics, monitor vital signs, and respond to emergencies.
  • Prepare and set up anesthesia drugs, supplies, and equipment, testing gas machines and ensuring readiness.
  • Assess patient records to predict anesthetic effects, explain procedures, and position patients appropriately.
  • Supervise and instruct student nurse anesthetists, residents, interns, and allied health students.
  • Assist in patient transfer, monitor post-anesthesia recovery, and take remedial measures as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of administered anesthetics and report activities periodically.
  • Disassemble and clean equipment, report repairs, and uphold safety standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited MSN, DNP, or DNAP CNRA program.
  • CRNA certification eligibility by AANA; current RN licensure recognized by NCBON.
  • New graduates are welcome; no prior experience beyond education and training required.

Skills

  • Strong clinical assessment and technical proficiency.
  • Excellent patient communication and supervision abilities.
  • Proficient in record-keeping.
  • Flexibility in shift options, including nights, weekends, and call duties, is preferred.
