About the role
The CRNA provides anesthesia services in various modalities, including regional, MAC sedation, and general anesthesia, for diverse surgical procedures. They work independently within the scope defined by professional guidelines and state laws, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and administer pre-operative medications, addressing patient and family questions.
- Verify patient identity, procedure accuracy, and physical readiness for anesthesia.
- Ensure all anesthesia and monitoring equipment is operational and stocked with emergency drugs.
- Establish and secure IV/intra-arterial lines and apply necessary monitors.
- Induce and maintain various anesthesia techniques, monitoring drug effects and adjusting dosages as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s in nursing and graduate certificate from an approved Nurse Anesthetist program.
- Certification/recertification by the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
- Current RN license, ACLS, PALS, and BCLS certifications.
- Professional experience as a CRNA with required credentials.
