Responsibilities

  • Complete initial patient assessment and reassessments as indicated by patient condition, ensuring compliance with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking by implementing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Perform physical tasks safely and effectively to care for assigned patient population, ensuring compliance with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • Manage medication administration and intravenous (IV) access according to physician's orders, ensuring compliance with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • Document nursing care and patient status in accordance with the nursing process, ensuring compliance with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • Communicate effectively to promote patient and family-centered care by interacting with patients, families, and the care-delivery team in verbal and written form.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Technical or Vocational School).
  • One (1) year experience as an RN in an acute care setting or successful completion of applicable clinical and didactic SRDH specialty training course(s).
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • One (1) year experience as an RN in Same-Day Surgery (SDS).
